The Cardinals scored on their opening drive to make the score 8-8.
The Dogs put together another touchdown drive in the second quarter with Adam Fonville scoring from 23 yards out.  Hayson Lane caught the two point conversion to give the Dogs a 16-8 lead at the half.
The Dogs scored on the first time they had the ball with Fonville capping a 51 yard drive with a one yard run; he also added the two point conversion to set the final score at 24-8.
The Jr. Dogs ended the season with 7 wins and 2 losses on the season, finishing conference runner up.
Adam Fonville had 141 carries on the season for 1301 yards setting a new Star City season rushing record; he also had 17 touchdowns and 5 two point conversions on the season.
Quin Jackson was the second leading rusher for the Dogs on the season with 93 carries for 758 yards and 3 touchdown and 3 two point conversions.
The leading receiver for the Dogs was Hayson Lane with 21 catches for 202 yards and 4 touchdowns and 2 two point conversions.
The Dogs were led by quarterback Eli Edmonds who kept the offense focused on every drive the whole season.
The offensive line of Kurt Conner, Jackson Burnett, center Grant Attwood, Kristian Everett, Cody Harrington, Lee Crain and tight end Hayson Lane did a great job giving the Jr. Dogs over 2300 yards of offense in nine games.
The Jr. Dogs defense was led by linebackers Brody Crain, Jake King, Ricky Parish, and Jake Hibbard.  The defensive line was led by PJ Humphrey, Tano Tatum, John Grace, Cody Herrington and Nakia Jackson.  The secondary was led by Fonville, Edmonds, Andrew King, who also led the Dogs in kick returns this season, Dakota Graham, Josh Gates and Kortavion Maddox.
Coach John Welch stated, “I am the most proud of this team of the ten years I’ve been the Jr. High head coach because this team had to overcome more than any other team.  With two players moving to different schools, some quitting the team, and EJ McDonald, who led the team in rushing the first game, suffering a season ending knee injury before halftime of the second game, these young men never quit, never complained, and never let one another down.  They showed the true BULLDOG SPIRIT!  If they continue to show that and stay together, they can accomplish anything that is in front of them.”
